Program Manager & Technology Transformation Consultant
"The PM who writes the code, designs the integration, and ships the program."
I'm Ankit Ahuja — founder of Techfficiency, an independent technology transformation consultancy, and a PMP-certified Program Manager with 17+ years delivering enterprise programs that sit at the intersection of operations, systems architecture, and organizational complexity.
I've led POS transformations across hundreds of retail locations, orchestrated payment encryption programs under full regulatory scrutiny, and managed enterprise ERP rollouts at Rogers, HBC, Walmart, and Element Fleet — across Grocery, Liquor, Pharmacy, and Fuel verticals — and currently across a federated cooperative model spanning 160+ autonomous retail entities.
What I do differently: I build.
I write production code, design integration architecture, author business requirements, and deploy AI-powered tooling that executives actually use — not prototypes. My CS foundation isn't decorative. I've shipped RAG systems, live PMO dashboards with CI/CD pipelines, and programmatic document generators — all while running the programs they support.
I bridge the gap most organizations struggle to close: between technical architecture and executive decision-making. I can classify integration patterns with enterprise architects in the morning and present program risk in four sentences to a VP in the afternoon.
I am not a coordinator. I am a builder who ships.
If you're solving a hard retail technology problem and need someone who can own it end to end — let's talk.
Services
Capability areas framed around outcomes — not job descriptions.
End-to-end leadership of large-scale technology modernization — from legacy system replacement to cloud migration, platform consolidation, and enterprise integration. No program too complex — personally led engagements up to $25M+.
Standing up program management offices from scratch: RAID logs, decision frameworks, sprint structures, stakeholder communication cadences, and gating processes. Built for real teams, not for audit theater.
Designing and managing integration landscapes across dozens of systems — APIs, middleware, data pipelines, event-driven architectures. Translating technical integration design into business-aligned delivery plans.
Deep expertise in point-of-sale platform replacement, payment processor certifications, encryption/tokenization compliance, and omni-channel payment enablement.
Delivery leadership for ERP programs (Oracle Retail, SAP S/4 HANA, Workday), e-commerce platform migrations (Salesforce Commerce Cloud), and HRIS transformations.
Custom-built AI tools for program delivery: RAG-based document intelligence systems, automated dashboards, video indexing platforms, and report generators. Production-grade, not prototypes.
Approach
Four principles that define every engagement I take on.
I start every engagement by mapping the full dependency landscape — upstream, downstream, and cross-functional. I identify leverage points, not just tasks. My plans reflect how systems actually behave, not how org charts say they should.
I stand up governance that accelerates delivery rather than slowing it down. RAID logs, decision frameworks, sprint cadences, and communication structures — all designed to serve the team, not create overhead.
I don't wait for someone else to write the requirements document, build the tracker, or design the integration spec. If it needs to get done, I do it. My teams know I'm in the work, not above it.
I adapt my communication to the audience — detailed technical walkthroughs for engineering teams, concise executive summaries for steering committees, and empathetic facilitation for workshops with dozens of participants with competing priorities.

Tools I Build
When off-the-shelf tools don't fit the problem — or don't exist — I build them. These are production systems in active use by program teams and senior executives, not side projects or demos.
RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) systems that index vendor documentation, meeting transcripts, and program artifacts — enabling instant natural-language search across thousands of pages of program knowledge.
Production-GradeReal-time program dashboards with API backends and SQL data stores, surfacing RAID status, milestone progress, resource allocation, and decision logs for senior leadership.
Used by ExecutivesA locally-hosted system that indexes and chunks video content — training sessions, vendor demos, workshops — making them searchable and queryable by topic, speaker, or keyword.
Custom BuiltCustom scripts and tools that generate formatted program artifacts — PowerPoint decks, Excel reports, governance documents — from structured data sources, eliminating hours of manual formatting.
